Ingrid explains why book parts are important, their purpose, and who writes them… plus, selecting which to include and which to leave out. Writers will discover that working on the front matter (dedication, preface, acknowledgments, foreword and introduction) on days they don’t feel like writing their story will move the project forward and reduce their anxiety by not having to rush to complete those elements at the end.

About Ingrid

Ingrid Lundquist is a creative spirit. After a career designing and producing high profile events, in 2011 she embraced visual storytelling through street photography and since then has been in more than 70 juried shows across the U.S. and abroad. She is the author of three business books on event production, a photo story book, and two books related to self-publishing, "Dictionary of Publishing Terms" and "Write an Upbeat Memoir."

Ingrid teaches writing and self-publishing classes at Sierra College in Rocklin, CA. She is the founder of The Book-in-Hand Roadshow which stages presentations and workshops on topics of interest to writers. She collects illustrated alphabet books and statues of liberty, and lives six miles from California’s State Capitol in an area she refers to as the ‘loose fringe’ of Sacramento.
